Radin's Room

I think we are about finished with Radin's room now.  The spot above the crib looks so bare to me, but I really don't want to hang any frames or anything heavy above it as I'm afraid they would fall in an earthquake (cuz we have those so often..lol).    Maybe I'll hang some of the cute clothes he can't fit into yet above the crib like they were hun gup at my shower.  We'll see.

As you will see, we have no real theme here.  The wall colors are a light grey with white trim.  The main colors are greens and blues.  The firniture is espresso.  I didn't want to get too "themey" so that it's easy to transition from a baby to a "big boy" in the future.  I just love the colors though...they are so fresh.

Kind of dark due to the weather and my non-use of flash...
Now with flash the colors look weird to me. lol
I love our crib...I think it's so pretty.  And it will convert to a toddler bed and a headboard eventually.  The blankie hanging ont he back is so soft, but it will be replaced with the quilt that my Grandmother is making for Radin.  But don't worry, Kayla...the soft blanket will still get plenty of use and Radin will love it!
My husband and Father-in-Law installed a very nice closet system for Radin.  I love it and it can be changed around so easily for the future.  Right now, all of the onesies and clothes that will fit him as a newborn are folded in the top cloth basket.  The hanging clothes are sizes too big for him right now.
This is the top of the beautiful crib that my Father-in-Law and Step-Mother-In-Law bought for Radin.  I love it and it matches the crib.  The cover for the changing pad is SO soft.  They should make adult size blankets that soft.  The canvas bags hanging on the side are full of diaper changing stuff, small toys, and things that need to be kept out of reach of Radin but still within out reach.  The wicker basket is FULL of washclothes.  I received a ton of washclothes at my shower!
This was a frame with wires and clothes pins attached that I received as a sort of "white elephant" gift this last Christmas.  I used it to hang a few of the Baby Shower card's, the little lion my sister had attached to her baby shower gifts, the Baby Shower invitation (middle), and Radin's first hot weel (purchased by my Husband...who just can't help buying toys for Radin...lol).
The rug is either alpaca or llama fur...I cannot remember.  I inherited after my Grandmother passed away.  I have very fond memories of laying on this rug and feeling it's super soft fur.  It was in a storage crate in our garage for years and became worn and had some cat crap dried into it.  My loving Husband had it dry cleaned and stitched back together as a surprise Christmas gift this last year.  Made me so happy.  We knew we wanted to share it with Radin.
The curtains are grass green and super soft.  There is a little handmade blue fox sitting on the window that I bought from etsy and I just love.  The view is of the backyard and my Husband's basketball hoop. lol
And my post just wouldn't be complete without our dog, Spike, getting in on the action. lol.
